RADIATOR
Removal
1. Easier access to the radiator will be provided if the bonnet is first removed. In this case, mark the fitted position of the hinges to facilitate alignment on installation.
2. Drain the cooling system by removing the cylinder block drain plug and/or disconnecting the bottom hose at the radiator.
3. Disconnect the top and bottom hose from the radiator, if not already done. Also pull off the overflow pipe. On models with the one-piece radiator cowling, the bottom hose must be completely removed.
4. Remove the two nuts securing the radiator upper support bracket to the cylinder head, and the two bolts securing the bracket to the radiator cowl, and remove the bracket.
5. On Clubman and 1275 GT models, remove the long through-bolt securing the radiator lower support bracket to the engine mounting (see insert on illustration).
6. On models with the two-piece cowling, remove the six screws securing the radiator to the cowling and lift out the top half of the cowling. Bend back the bottom hose to the outside of the lower cowling and lift out the radiator.
7. On models with the one-piece cowling, remove the four screws securing the radiator to the cowling and lift out the radiator and cowling.
Installation Install the radiator in the reverse order of removing. Finally, refill the cooling system and check for water leaks.
