THROTTLE CABLE
Replacement

Detach the throttle return spring from the throttle lever and its abutment bracket. Slacken the clamp nut to release the cable at the throttle lever then withdraw the cable from the abutment-bracket.
At the throttle pedal, release the nipple end from the slot in the top of the pedal lever and push the cable through the bulkhead into the engine compartment. Remove the rubber clip securing the cable to the heater hose and withdraw the cable assembly.
Fit the new cable in the reverse sequence. Ensure that the throttle pedal has approximately 1/8 in (4 mm) free movement before if begins to open the throttle.
