PANEL SWITCHES

The switches in the central panel assembly may be of either toggle type, or rocker type on later cars. In either case, the interior heater unit must be lowered to gain access to the rear of the panel and allow the switch to be withdrawn.

Removal & Installation

1. Slacken the nut at the rear of the heater unit. 2. Remove the two screws securing the front of the heater and lower the heater from the fascia. 3. With the toggle type switch, unscrew the switch retaining ring and withdraw the switch from the switch panel. Note the respective positions of the wires and disconnect the connectors t ie switch terminals. 4. With the rocker type switch, merely push the switch out of the switch panel and disconnect the multi-connector plug from the switch . 5. Install the new switch in the reverse order of removing.
