Technical Data
SUSPENSION
Type "Dry" suspension; Rubber cone springs with
                    hydraulic telescopic shock absorbers, or
                    "Wet" suspension; Hydrolastic displacers

SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT

Rear wheel toe-setting1/8 in (3.18 mm) toe-in
Rear wheel camber 1' positive,+ 1.50'max/- 0.50 min

HYDROLASTIC SUSPENSION

Hydrolastic fluid BMC Part No. 97H 2801
Fluid capacity 4 Imp Pts (2.27 litres) approx.

System pressure (unladen)
Mini Clubman & 1275 GT 292 psi (20.6 kg/cm2
All others
Early models 263 psi (18.5 kg/cm2)
Later models* 282 psi (19.7 kg/cm2)

*NOTE.. later cars were fitted with modified displacer units
those helper springs and rear suspension struts, and their
components are not interchangeable individually with those
fitted to earlier cars.

SUSPENSION TRIM HEIGHT

Mini Clubman & 1275 GT (front & rear)13.50.375 in (343 - 9.5 mm)
All others - Early models
  Front 13.0 0.25 in (330 +/- 6.35 mm)
  Rear 13.5 0.25 in (343 +/- 6.35 mm)

  Rear 13.14 +/- 0.25 in (333.4 +/- 6.35 mm)

NOTE: Trim height is measured from wheel centre
line to underside of wing opening, with car in unladen condi-
tion and a maximum of 4 Imp Galls (18.2 litres) of petrol in
tank. Adjust system pressure to obtain specified height.
