BRAKESERVO

A brake servo unit is fitted as standard equipment only on 1275 GT models up to 1974. The only periodic maintenance required is attention to the servo air filter.

Air Filter

The filter element is located under the plastic dome on the underside of the servo unit cylinder . The filter should be removed for cleaning every 12,000 miles (20,000 km), and renewed every 36,000 miles (60,000 km). To remove the filter, lever the dome off the valve cover with a screw-driver and lift out the filter. Clean the filter element with a low-pressure air line. Do NOT use cleaning fluid or lubricant of any description on the filter. When refitting the filter element, ensure that the air valve spring is securely located onto the valve. Snap fit the plastic dome onto the valve cover.
